چکیده
Objective: To know the outcome of ERAS in pediatric population undergoing gastrointestinal surgical procedures terms time bowel function recovery, postoperative intravenous nutrition time, total hospital stay and complication rate. Study Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Setting: Department Pediatric Surgery, Mayo Hospital, Lahore. Period: January 2022 to September 2022. Material & Methods: This study included children (n=89) who had pyloromyotomy, appendectomy, reduction intussusception, resection Meckel’s diverticulum stoma closure Surgical was compared among underwent surgery using standard perioperative protocols (control group, n=46) those which were followed (ERAS n=43). Results: In group control recovery times for (p <0.001), <0.001) < 0.001) all noticeably shorter than group. There no discernible intergroup variation Conclusion: Our shows that paediatric results less use nutrition, shortened early discharge.

متن کاملImmunonutrition within enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS): an unresolved matter
Preoperative malnutrition because of poor oral intake significantly increases the risk of adverse events after surgery and leads to increased length of stay. While immunonutrition has been utilized in the non-ERAS setting, its utility in both minimally invasive surgery and ERAS pathway procedures remain poorly defined. There are at least ten meta-analyses regarding the assessment of immunonutri...
متن کاملEnhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS®) protocol in patients undergoing laparoscopic resection for stage IV colorectal cancer
BACKGROUND There is strong evidence for the use of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol with colorectal surgery. However, in most studies on ERAS, patients with stage IV colorectal cancer (CRC) are commonly excluded. It is not certain if the ERAS protocol combined with laparoscopy improves outcomes in this group of patients as well. The aim of the study is to assess the feasibility o...
